Playtest Panic – A RPG Maker Game Jam Project

Follow a beginning game dev on his journey to his first completed RPG Maker game.

Getting started with solo indie game dev. What better way than to participate in a ITCH.IO RPG Maker game jam.

I have two projects planned, both of which will be developed in RPG Maker MZ. What better way to learn the engine and get something completed in a short amount of time. Yeah a third project. It’ll be fun, they said…

RPG Maker 10 Day RTP Challenge #5

Started on the 12th of March and ends On the 23rd.

At first the game name was “Unfinished Business”, but the game development is barely started. So, the current name is “Playtest Panic”

The premise: Dave the Dev: Sewer Escape

Dave only wanted to test his game.

One accidental click later… he’s trapped inside it.

Now Dave must fight his way through a half-finished sewer dungeon filled with angry NPCs, broken mechanics, and tiger bunnies that know exactly who built this mess.

The characters complain about missing dialogue.
Rooms still have “TODO” signs on the walls.
And the game engine itself keeps breaking the fourth wall.

To escape, Dave must fix the problems he created — all while surviving the dungeon’s furious inhabitants.

At the end waits the final boss:

The Sabre Tooth Tiger Bunny King.

And he’s been waiting a long time for this playtest.

Fix the game. Survive the dungeon. Escape your own code.

Follow along while I develop my first game with RPG Maker MZ. You might catch a cute little bunny.
